Daring Rescue: Horse Saved from Raging Flood in Illinois

Firefighters and a local vet team up to rescue a horse swept away by a fast-moving flood in Illinois, using a makeshift raft to bring the animal to safety after an 8-hour ordeal.
In a dramatic and daring rescue operation, firefighters from the Marengo fire and rescue districts, along with a local veterinarian, worked tirelessly to save a horse swept away by a fast-moving flood in Illinois. The horse, named Troy, was stranded about 600 feet from the nearest shore, surrounded by a strong current of water in Coon Creek, approximately 60 miles north-west of Chicago.
The crews quickly sprang into action, constructing a makeshift raft to navigate the treacherous waters and reach the stranded animal. The rescue mission was complicated by the depth of the creek, which measured a daunting 15 feet, but the team remained undaunted in their efforts to bring Troy to safety.
