Trump Admin Gets Greenlight to Build $400M White House Ballroom

The Trump administration can continue construction of a $400 million White House ballroom after a US appeals court ruled in their favor, overturning an earlier order to halt the project.
In a significant victory for the Trump administration, a US appeals court has ruled in favor of allowing the construction of a $400 million White House ballroom to proceed, overturning an earlier court order that had aimed to halt most aboveground construction on the project.
The three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the Washington DC circuit granted the administration a stay of the previous order, which had resulted from a lawsuit filed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The trust had challenged whether President Trump had the authority to raze the East Wing and construct the lavish new ballroom without congressional approval.
