Suffering in Gaza: Inside the Al-Mawasi Water Crisis

Hear the harrowing stories of Gazans struggling with worsening water shortages, leaving families desperate for clean drinking water.
The al-Mawasi region of the Gaza Strip has long been plagued by water scarcity, but the situation has only grown more dire in recent years. Residents of this coastal enclave now find themselves in a daily struggle to access clean, drinkable water - a basic necessity that many in the developed world take for granted.
For the people of al-Mawasi, the search for water has become a full-time occupation. Umm Saleh, a mother of six, describes the daily torment: "We wake up every morning not knowing where we will find water that day. It's a constant battle." With the aquifer beneath Gaza rapidly depleting and seawater intrusion contaminating remaining supplies, families are left with few options for potable water.
