Shocking Surge in Insurance Scams Fueled by Fake AI Images

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming a powerful tool for criminals seeking to defraud insurance companies, according to a new report. Insurers have seen a 71% rise in fraudulent claims, with a significant portion of these scams involving faked images created using AI technology.

One insurer revealed that they have seen a concerning trend of claimants submitting images of non-existent luxury watches that were generated using AI. These fabricated photos are often indistinguishable from legitimate product photos, making it extremely difficult for adjusters to detect the fraud.
