Settlers' Passover Celebrations Spark Outrage Amid Palestinian Displacement

As Israeli settlers mark Passover with festivities, Palestinians displaced by settler violence grapple with the loss of their communities and cultural heritage.
Settler communities across the occupied West Bank have turned their Passover celebrations into a commemoration of the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians, further exacerbating tensions in the region. While settlers host joyous festivals to mark the ancient Jewish exodus from Egypt, many displaced Palestinians confront the painful reality of their own forced expulsions from ancestral lands.
The Passover holiday, which commemorates the Israelites' liberation from slavery in ancient Egypt, has become a rallying cry for Israeli settlers to assert their claims over Palestinian territories. In various settlements, settlers have organized parades, parties, and even re-enactments of biblical events, all while Palestinian families languish in the shadow of these festivities.
For many Palestinians, the settlers' Passover celebrations serve as a painful reminder of the ongoing displacement and dispossession they have endured. Entire communities have been forcibly removed from their homes, often with little to no recourse, to make way for the expansion of Israeli settlements.
Nabil, a Palestinian resident of the West Bank, recounts the anguish of witnessing his neighbors' homes demolished to build a new settlement.
