Planned Doctors' Strike Threatens Chaos Across England's Hospitals

NHS England Chief warns planned six-day walkout by junior doctors is deliberately timed to disrupt hospitals over the Easter break.
Doctors' strike action in England has been deliberately timed to cause maximum disruption, according to the head of NHS England, Sir Jim Mackey. With the six-day walkout coinciding with the Easter holiday period, hospitals are struggling to find enough replacement doctors to cover staff absences, Mackey said.
The latest dispute between the National Health Service and junior doctors is set to cause significant challenges for hospitals across the country. "This strike has been deliberately timed to cause havoc by overlapping with the Easter break, when many staff are off work," Mackey stated.
Hospitals have been working to fill rotas and ensure adequate medical coverage, but Mackey admitted the task has been extremely difficult. "We're really struggling to find enough doctors to replace those who won't be working during the strike," he said. "This is going to put a huge strain on our ability to provide high-quality care over this crucial period."
