New Zealand Seeks US Aid for Pacific Fuel Crisis Amid Iran War

New Zealand calls on the US to send fuel tankers to the Pacific to alleviate economic and fuel pressure caused by the Iran war, according to Foreign Minister Winston Peters.
New Zealand has called on the US to send fuel tankers to the Pacific to help alleviate some of the significant economic and fuel pressure caused by the war in the Middle East.
Winston Peters, New Zealand's foreign minister, met the US secretary of state, Marco Rubio, in Washington on Tuesday, where they discussed bilateral relations, the war in Iran, and the Pacific region.
Peters said he made sure the US understood the significant economic impacts the conflict has had on New Zealand and other Pacific nations. The request for fuel tankers is an attempt to mitigate the fallout from the Iran war, which has disrupted global energy markets and sent fuel prices skyrocketing.
