London's Met Police to Pilot Facial Recognition Tech

In a move that has sparked concerns from civil liberties groups, the Metropolitan Police in London will soon begin piloting the use of automated facial recognition technology to verify citizens' identities. London mayor Sadiq Khan has confirmed that 100 officers will utilize the roaming technology, which is commonly deployed on smartphones, for a six-month trial period.
