Israeli PM Proposes Talks with Lebanon to Disarm Hezbollah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says his government is ready to enter negotiations with Lebanon to disarm the Hezbollah militia and establish peaceful relations between the two countries.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that his government is ready to enter negotiations with Lebanon as soon as possible. The talks would focus on disarming the Hezbollah militia and establishing peaceful relations between the two countries.
Speaking at a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu stated, "We are ready to enter negotiations with Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah and establish peaceful relations as soon as possible." This comes amid growing regional tensions and concerns over the influence of Hezbollah, the Shia Muslim political party and militant group based in Lebanon.
Hezbollah is a powerful force in Lebanese politics and has been a key ally of Iran, Israel's regional adversary. The group has a large arsenal of rockets and missiles that it has used against Israel in past conflicts. Israel has repeatedly struck Hezbollah targets in Syria, where the group is fighting alongside the forces of President Bashar al-Assad.
