Israel Imposes Restrictions on Palestinian Media in East Jerusalem

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has issued an order banning the work of five Palestinian local media organizations operating in occupied East Jerusalem. The move has raised concerns over press freedom and the Israeli government's ongoing crackdown on Palestinian media and civil society in the region.

The banned organizations include the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA), Al-Quds, Al-Arabi al-Jadeed, Shehab News Agency, and Quds News Network. These outlets have played a crucial role in providing news and information from a Palestinian perspective in the occupied territories.

According to the Israeli Defense Ministry, the decision was made due to the media organizations' alleged ties to the Palestinian Authority and their
