Historic Artemis II Crew Completes Moon Flyby, Hailed by Trump

Artemis II astronauts receive congratulations from President Trump after completing a historic journey around the Moon, paving the way for future lunar missions.
After successfully completing the Artemis II mission, the four astronauts aboard the Orion spacecraft received a congratulatory phone call from former President Donald Trump. The Artemis II mission, which launched on November 16, 2023, marked the first crewed flight around the Moon since the Apollo program ended in 1972.
The Artemis II crew, consisting of Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Hammock Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen, spent more than a week in lunar orbit, conducting scientific experiments and testing critical systems for future Artemis missions that will land astronauts on the lunar surface.
