In a tragic development, detectives investigating the kidnapping of 85-year-old Chris Baghsarian have discovered what they suspect to be human remains near a golf club in Pitt Town, just outside of Sydney. The discovery comes 11 days after Baghsarian was abducted from his North Ryde home in a case that has gripped the city.
Police say the grim find was made around 8 am on Tuesday morning as part of the ongoing search for the missing octogenarian. Authorities have yet to confirm if the remains belong to Baghsarian, but the discovery is a devastating blow in the effort to locate the elderly man alive.
Baghsarian was snatched from his North Ryde residence on February 13th in what police have described as a case of mistaken identity. The kidnappers were apparently searching for a different individual but grabbed the wrong target. Despite an intensive search and investigation, Baghsarian's whereabouts have remained unknown until this latest development.
