Gaza Families in Limbo: Waiting to Bury Loved Ones 6 Months After Ceasefire

Thousands of Palestinians remain missing and unburied in Gaza, with families unable to lay their loved ones to rest 6 months after the ceasefire with Israel.
Gaza, the coastal enclave that has endured years of conflict, is still grappling with the aftermath of the most recent war between Israel and Palestinian militant groups. Despite a ceasefire that was declared six months ago, the families of thousands of Palestinians who were killed during the fighting are still unable to bury their loved ones.
According to estimates, around 10,000 Palestinians remain missing, believed to be buried under the rubble of collapsed buildings and homes that were destroyed during the 11-day conflict in May 2021. The task of recovering and identifying the bodies has been a daunting one, with the limited resources and infrastructure in Gaza making the process exceedingly difficult.
