The European Union's executive body, the European Commission, has firmly insisted that the United States must honor the terms of their existing trade agreement, following President Donald Trump's decision to raise global tariffs in response to a Supreme Court ruling blocking many of his emergency tariff measures.
Trade tensions between the EU and US have escalated in recent months, with the Trump administration taking an increasingly hardline stance on perceived unfair trading practices by America's key allies. However, the European Commission has now made it clear that it expects the US to uphold its side of the bargain when it comes to their bilateral trade deal.
