Disgraced Entrepreneur Jailed for COVID-19 Loan Fraud Scheme

A Manchester director who applied for multiple unauthorized COVID-19 Bounce Back loans and served as a director while disqualified has been sentenced to jail.
In a concerning breach of pandemic relief protocols, Matloob Hussain, a 49-year-old director from Manchester, has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in a COVID-19 loan fraud scheme. Hussain had applied for three separate Bounce Back loans that he was not entitled to receive, taking advantage of the emergency financial assistance programs put in place to support businesses during the global health crisis.
Adding to the severity of his crimes, Hussain had been disqualified from serving as a company director at the time he was acting in that capacity. This flagrant disregard for the law and abuse of the government's COVID-19 relief efforts have rightfully landed him behind bars.
