Deadly Georgia Attacks Stir Homeland Security Concerns

A string of random attacks in Georgia leaves 2 women dead, including a DHS employee, drawing attention from the Trump administration.
A series of deadly attacks in Georgia has drawn the attention of the Trump administration, after one of the victims was identified as a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) employee who was walking her dog. The killings of Lauren Bullis and another unidentified woman, as well as the critical injury of a third victim, have raised concerns about the background of the 26-year-old suspect, Olaolukitan Adon Abel, a British native who was granted US citizenship in 2022.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin issued a statement addressing the tragedy, highlighting the fact that the suspect had recently been granted American citizenship. The attacks, which occurred on Monday, are being described as random and have sparked questions about the vetting process for naturalized citizens.
