Bradford Fraudster Forced to Repay Over £120K in Illegal COVID Loans

A Bradford man has been ordered to return more than £120,000 after fraudulently obtaining multiple Bounce Back Loans in his wife's name during the pandemic.
Bradford man Zafar Hussain has been ordered to hand over more than £120,000 after securing Bounce Back Loans in his wife's name during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hussain, who was jailed for fraud last year, was able to obtain two out of the three maximum-value loans he applied for, with one application being rejected.
The Bounce Back Loan Scheme was launched by the government in 2020 to provide financial support to small businesses impacted by the pandemic. Hussain exploited this program, using his wife's identity to fraudulently secure two of the maximum £50,000 loans.
