Baumgardner Triumphs, Daniels' Shocking Upset Steals the Show

Alycia Baumgardner retains her junior lightweight titles, but Lani Daniels pulls off a stunning knockout upset in the co-main event at Madison Square Garden.
Baumgardner cruised to a commanding 10-round unanimous decision victory over Bo Mi Re Shin to retain her WBO, IBF and WBA junior lightweight titles in the headline bout of the first US card staged by Most Valuable Promotions Women, the nascent women's boxing platform launched by boxer-influencer Jake Paul. However, the real story of the night came in the co-main event, where Lani Daniels, a longshot from New Zealand, pulled off a shocking ninth-round stoppage win over Shadasia Green to seize the unified crown.
Daniels, a relative unknown coming into the fight, stunned the crowd at the Theater at Madison Square Garden with her relentless pressure and crisp combinations, overwhelming the previously undefeated Green and forcing the referee to step in and stop the contest in the ninth round. Green was stretchered out of the ring but later reported to be conscious, a testament to the jarring nature of Daniels' upset victory.
